When you think of floral print, you probably think of Spring and Summer, and I’m right there with you. But I decided to take my floral print button down into Fall with a little layering. Mixed with a black and white gingham button down, a pleated mini, and booties, floral print just might have earned a permanent spot in my Fall wardrobe. The only thing that would have made this a better look for me would be slimmer cut button downs. I loved the layered look, but I wasn’t digging the extra padding. Lessons learned!
Tops: Old Navy Gingham Button Down (similar), Merona Floral (option), Skirt: J.Crew Factory Pleated Mini, Belt: J.Crew (similar), Booties: Carlos Santana (similar), Necklace: Stella & Dot Somervell, Earrings: Stella & Dot Nancy Stud, Bracelets: Stella & Dot Christina Link, Eden Bangle
Do you ever double up your button downs?

Eek! I love this Lauren! I would never have the guts to combo these two pieces together, but you’re pulling it off flawlessly. Also, I have those booties–aren’t those the best?!
Wow! I love the mix of prints here, you look stunning!
Love the print mixing! I would never have thought to layer those but it looks great!

I have that problem a lot of the time when I try to layer, I hate the extra bulk!

You did a fantastic job of both layering and print mixing here! I cannot do either of those very well haha. You look very pull-together in a fun way!

Love the way you layered the button downs. So cute! And I love floral for fall – something about mixing the lighter floral patterns with darker fall pieces I really like. Fabulous look!

I’ve never done a double button down look before. Love the floral with the plaid!
Such adorable layering, and I love your mixture of prints!
I can’t say that I have ever doubled up on my button down tops, but you make it look fabulous! I love the floral print paired with classic gingham. Floral print is one of my all time favorite prints and this is an excellent way to take it into Fall. Great pictures!

I have never attempted to layer two button downs, I always assumed it was some kind of j.crew catalog witchcraft.
Glad to see someone working it in real life!
Love the layered look, but I agree that a slimmer cut might be better. Such a good idea though!

This is so cute! I love using florals through the fall. I’ve only tried doubling up on button downs once, and truthfully I felt a little claustrophobic haha. But it looks good so that’s all that really matters, right?
