I’ve been talking a lot about wardrobe staples lately–like Spanx faux leather leggings, classic white sneakers, a leather jacket… But today’s post is all about a combination of two of mine! I can’t imagine my closet without a pair of dark wash denim jeans or a striped tee! And obviously both are pieces you can wear in countless ways. But the two together? Yep, just as versatile! I created four striped shirt outfits, using the same exact tee and denim. But these outfits are all completely different, taking you from work to the weekend!
Business Casual Outfit
For those of you who have the ability to wear denim to the office or have casual Fridays, this look is exactly something I’d wear. I’ve always been a big believer that denim for the office should be classic without distressing or trendy details. These are perfect work to weekend jeans!
The tee keeps it a little more casual, but the blazer adds a layer of professionalism. For the shoe, I went with a classic leopard print flat. The pattern adds a little playful personality to the look, but the classic d’orsay design keeps it professional enough for an office environment.
By simply swapping the shoe, you could make this look even more casual! Try a Converse sneaker (or any white sneakers– these are my fav right now!!), and wear this look on the weekend!

Denim on Denim Outfit
This combination has been a go-to of mine for years. I love the look of an open chambray top as a third piece layer. Just think of it as an alternative to a cardigan or jacket! It’s light enough for warmer days ahead too. You can also wear it knotted or with the sleeves rolled!
For the shoe, I went with a sneaker. Although a favor a classic white sneaker going into spring and summer, you could also do a slip-on style or swap for a pair of casual flats!

Utility Jacket Outfit
This is another classic that I’ve loved for years! A utility jacket is another one of my go-to’s especially for spring and fall. It’s a great weight for that in-between weather. I went with booties for this look since it’s still cold here, but to bring it into spring more, I’d swap them for a pair of espadrilles, wedges, or flats!
You could also trade out this utility jacket for another light jacket option! A denim jacket would be a great option. I also love my light pink utility jacket too!

Layered Poncho Outfit
I have been all about a poncho sweater this year, especially as a new mom! They are wonderful for postpartum and nursing. But to add a little extra style, I love the stripe tee peeking out from the sleeve! You could also do this same look with a turtleneck to have stripes peeking out at the neckline as well!
Although the color of my poncho is sold out, there is also an oatmeal shade, which I like even better going into spring! For the shoe, again I went with a more winter-friendly option! But to bring this look into spring, I’d wear a flat (the leopard print flats from my first look would be perfect!) or a sneaker!
Poncho (S) | | Tee (M) | Jeans (28) | Boots (9) – under $40!
I love all of these looks but the stripes peeking out of the poncho is my favorite.
What an essential top!

Hi, are you able to tell me where that utility jacket you’re wearing in the picture was purchased? The one that’s linked looks slightly different. Thank you!
