Polka Dots and Stripes (with a side of turkey talk)

Do you know what time it is?

Turkey time! Woop!

Well actually, I still have to make it through two full days of work, but this evening officially begins the big dinner preparation. I can hardly contain my excitement. Can’t you tell?

Aaron and I have decided to have our own little Thanksgiving at home this year, and even though I’ve cooked a Friday “Thanksgiving meal” the past two years, this is the first time I’m in charge of the big shebang. On the Turkey Day menu? Mac ‘n’ cheese, green bean casserole, cranberries, fruit salad, and (hopefully) mashed potatoes will all grace our plates (if I can get my act together). And, of course, there will be pie. That’s one part of the meal I won’t venture to whip up from scratch, but it will still be delicious thanks to the lovely folks at our local Ukrop’s bakery.

What’s on your Thanksgiving Day menu? Are you in charge of cooking?

Haha, thanks Nellie! Unfortunately we can’t take credit for the blue trim. It was already painted when we move in! 🙂

I love mixing prints, and polka dots and stripes is especially perfect. You look adorable, Lauren! Also, I’m pretty darn jealous there will be Mac and Cheese at your Thanksgiving….my family needs to get on board with that!

My mom cooks ours but I help here and there. As I’m getting older, our Thanksgiving is getting smaller and smaller, but we still cook a whole lot of food!

You are too cute! I love this outfit! The combo of stripes and polka dots is so lovely and your bright pink cardigan adds a great pop of color!

I was never a bug fan of house hopping on Thanksgiving. I always was left completely overly stuffed by the end of the day! Maybe I’m not so good at practicing self control? 😉

I love polka dots and stripes together! The only thing I’m in charge of for Thanksgiving dinner is the guacamole and chips. We’ve never in a million years had guacamole and chips at Thanksgiving dinner, but I guess my grandma decided that we would have them this year and that I’d be the perfect one to make it!

I’ve never had guacamole and chips at Thanksgiving before, but I can’t say that I’d complain. There’s never a bad time for guacamole in my book!
