On Friday, I mentioned that over the weekend I would be running in Richmond’s biggest race, the Monument 10k, and run it I did.
But not with these guys. These people are FAST. (Image by Daniel Sangjib Min via TD)I really could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect and the day drinkers, er, I mean spectators, were out in full force.
Sure, my time wasn’t a PR, but it was still a major accomplishment. This year I finished the race feeling not at all fatigued. I realize that this partially means I could have pushed myself more, but it also means that I am much stronger than I was one year ago. It’s hard to imagine that before last year’s race my longest distance was only 5-6 miles. I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come. (But PR, I’m coming for you in my next race!)
I was a bad blogger and failed to take a single picture while we were at the race, but I did snap this one after we were showered. (You actually might be thankful because we both look a lot better than we did post-race!)
Did anyone else have an active weekend?
*Being a runner, I feel a special camaraderie with the Boston Marathoners. I know what a joyous occasion a race should be, and I cannot imagine what they are going through. My heart goes out to all those affected. They are in my thoughts and prayers.*

And now to introduce you to my lovely sponsor, Angela from Head to Toe Chic!
One of the many reasons why I personally love Angela’s blog is how approachable her style is. Her outfits are always on point- I mean check her out rocking this white blazer, but she always keeps things affordable for us every day gals. And anyone who can make an outfit combining glitter and skulls is alright in my book!
But her blog isn’t just strictly fashion! She also features beauty, shopping, and even gives us a peak into her home! And because Angela is so awesome, she’s giving away a $10 Target gift card and 30 days of ad space on Head to Toe Chic!
Enter using the Rafflecopter below. Good luck! 🙂

Congrats on your race! I am a runner but I have never done a race before. I want to do a 10 K and then a half (I was training for a half but had a semi injury so I had to cut back). You inspire me to try a 10 k!

Thanks, Nikki. I’ve never done anything longer than a half, but I’d say that a 10k is a very manageable distance and a great goal. Go for it!
Congrats! I’ve just started the whole ‘running’ thing – I haven’t seriously run since 2004, and that was only on the treadmill. Your enthusiasm is definitely motivating! I’m looking forward to picking up some new accessories at Target – since I’m trying to shed some pounds, I’m not ready to buy any new clothes – just decorate the ones I have!
Running is definitely addicting! Keep it up! 🙂
Shoes!
Congrats honey! You’re so inspiring.

Thanks, Bree. Before launching the giveaway, I actually did some research. There are quite a few Targets in Canada, but I know they aren’t widespread yet! 🙂
