November being here is feeling a bit bittersweet for me. I’ve always been a big fan of the holiday season, and so I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving, especially since my family is coming into town! My sister and dad will finally get the chance to meet Layla in person. (Facetime dates just aren’t the same as real snuggles!) But at the same time, these are my last few weeks at home with Layla before I have to return to work.
Sure, it may sound silly to start fretting about something that is still a few weeks away, but the last two months have just flown by, and I know that this next month will be no exception. In the meantime, I’m enjoying my time with my mini sidekick. We had a lovely trip to the polls yesterday and a little walk through the Museum District! She’s a great little photography assistant too! 😉

That was the hardest part when I had to go back o work with Cameron. Even though I left him with my grandmother, I cried and called her every 2 hours and checked on him. She eventually got tired of me calling and ignored my calls, lol. Now at 6, I can’t wait until he goes to school, lol. So I won’t lie, you are going to miss her to pieces. But that means you are a good mommy.
Loving the print of your cardi, so cute!
Oh, I remember that. I had a much harder time than I thought going back. My husband would do drop off to make it easier and I picked her up at the end of the day. A routine will fall into place and it will become easier on you.
That cardi is gorgeous on you. I looked at them on Groopdealz but couldn’t figure out if they would work for me. I love this look on you. You look radiant!

You’re allowed to be worried, that’s a big transition! Plus, if she’ll be with a babysitter, you have that on your plate to worry about too. Everyone means well, but Mommy knows what baby likes best. With my first child I was 18, so I was working at a Wendy’s till 2 am every night and going to college during the day. Even though London slept through the night, I never did because I would stay awake looking at her, because I had so much to do I didn’t get to be with my baby. With my second I was 21 and still in college, but the economy crashed and I just never went back to the hotel I was working at from maternity leave. I stayed home with my son for two, almost three years. It was hard, but I got to see all the things I missed with my first child.
Going back to work after being home with my snuggle monster was a struggle. I think it was harder on me than on him… lol Enjoy the next few weeks, they go by quick. xo
