Day to Night: Tied With A Bow

It’s around this time of year when we all need our outfits to start pulling double duty. With office holiday gatherings and post-work cocktail parties, an ensemble lasting from eight to five no longer cuts it. Being a classic girl, it’s at these times when I naturally turn straight to my favorite LBD.

bow detail dress, gray blazer, statement necklace

A blazer always makes me feel work appropriate, and long hours instantly translate to flats.

Just hanging on my deck. In my work clothes. This looks natural, right?!

Perfect work to party outfit

Dress: Sak’s (similar and affordable!, love this), Blazer: Merona Tailored Blazer (seen here), Necklace: Stella & Dot Sophia Pearl Bib (similar), Shoes: J.Crew Factory (similar, on the cheap), Bracelet: J.Crew Factory (on the cheap, love this), Tights: Urban Outfitters (similar)

Day-night work party

But what I love most about a simple outfit like this is its versatility. Losing the blazer and swapping daytime flats for a pair of heels instantly preps me for hobnobbing with the higher-ups. (Or just grabbing drinks with the gals. You know, whichever.)

What are your favorite day to night pieces or accessories?

You are so right about this being the season for double-duty ensembles. I rely on blazers and flats during the day and change into heels and add bold accessories for my after work fun.

Absolutely love this look. I cannot believe that blazer is from Target! It looks just like the Gap piped blazer. And those shoes…those are right up my alley!

I was really shocked to find this blazer at Target too! You’re right. It looks a lot like the Gap one but for less. Gotta love that. 🙂
