Double Vision: Polka Dots and Pink

When I saw Lisa’s latest post on Respect the Shoes, I nearly laughed out loud. And then I said a silent, “thank you,” glad that we don’t happen to work together or live in the same city for that matter.

But our outfits’ similarities got me thinking: I am lucky enough to say that I’ve never showed up somewhere wearing the same outfit as a friend. Sure, I’ve come close when both a girlfriend and I happened to be wearing, say, striped tops but nothing similar enough for it to be painfully obvious. However I have seen friends go through it, and I’ve noticed that they tend to find it incredibly embarrassing.

I’m not sure how I would handle it. Seeing Lisa’s post reaffirmed how much I love the polka dots against the pink pencil skirt, but in person would I feel the same way?

Have you ever worn the same outfit as a friend? How did you handle it? Did one of you decide to change?

Love that blazer, the trim makes it extra amazing! I can’t say that I’ve ever shown up to an event wearing the exact same outfit as a friend but a friend of mine and I have quite a few of the same pieces and on more than one occasion we’ve worn the same sweater. It doesn’t really bother me but that’s probably because we don’t look completely identical! Not sure how I would handle the exact same outfit!

Oh, my best friend in high school and I on more than one occasion came to school in the same outfit and it wasn’t even planned. Not. Kidding. We were outfit twinsies for sure!

I love how girly this is and yet it is completely appropriate for work. The polka dot top is my favorite. 🙂
