I love going out and doing in-store try-ons for y’all, but getting my bi-monthly Trunk Club is still a highlight for me! It’s probably because the items are tailored to my style… and I don’t have to leave the house to try them! 😂I mean, who doesn’t love trying on things in the comfort of their own home, right?! And my November Trunk Club is probably one of my favorites yet! So many of the pieces were so good. I hope you’ll love them as much as I did!
If you’re new to my Trunk Club reviews, be sure to read more about how it works! But if you’re familiar with the process, scroll down below to get straight to the try-ons!
What is Trunk Club? How does it work?
Trunk Club is an online service, where a personal stylist (you can request mine here!) helps you select items based on your style preferences. You fill out a style profile that includes your sizing, your favorite colors, types of clothing you’re looking for, and your price preferences. Then you connect with your personal stylist, who asks more in depth questions (via chat or phone!) about what exactly you need and want.
The stylist selects items for you and sends you a preview. You have 48 hours to review the items and remove any that aren’t your taste. (OR remove if you already have similar items! I was amazed how well my stylist nailed my style. There were several items I had to switch out because I already owned them!!)
You can also request specific items be added to your trunk as well! Had your eye on something on Nordstrom.com? Just send your stylist a note that you’d like it to be added to your trunk! As long as the item is available your stylist can include it!
Then your trunk is shipped to you (fo’ free because that’s how Nordies rolls). You can try on all the pieces in the comfort of your own home. Keep what you like, ship back what you don’t. (Again for free!)
If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, the service is free. For non-cardholders, there is a service charge of $25. But if you purchase anything in your trunk, the fee is applied to your purchase.
Phew. Hopefully, I explained that well enough! Let’s get on to the items!!
November Trunk Club Review
This month I really didn’t give my stylist a specific direction, but she sent so many cute sweaters! I seriously struggled with what to keep!
If you’ve never tried anything by Gibson before, you are missing out. I don’t know what type of magical fabric they use, but it is so comfortable! I have a tunic sweater from them that I love and this wrap top is equally as soft and comfy! It does not have a button closure, but it still stayed closed as I jumped, bent over… I had to give it a good test, y’all! 😂This is a medium but I thought it was a bit big and am exchanging for a small! It comes in four other colors!
I love me a good Free People thermal! This one has a stretchy boat neck that can be taken off shoulder if you’d like. It also has an asymmetrical hem. FP often runs super oversized! I’m wearing a small here and recommend sizing down one. Comes in 6 colors!
I was a little unsure about these velvet leggings when I pulled them out, but once I had them on, I thought they were so cute on! The only downside is that the waistband is very small. Just when walking from my living room to the bedroom, they fell down well over an inch. I’m not sure if it would help if I sized down one or not. Because of that, they ended up being a no.
Oh, this sweater. I’ll talk a little more about it below…
I came so close to keeping this sweater. The color is so beautiful in person. It’s super-soft and has a bit of a fuzzy texture to it. I also loved the oversized fit. Now here’s the downside: it’s $79. As much as I loved it, I didn’t think there was any way it was worth that price. The quality isn’t horrible, but it’s not worth $80. I did notice there are some other colors on sale for under $50, and that seems much more reasonable to me! I’m going to watch this color to see if it goes on sale too!
I’ve become a bit of a Madewell addict lately, and this sweater did not disappoint. It has a mock neck and is a beautiful mossy green color. Fit is a bit relaxed but not oversized. Stay with your true size! It also comes in a speckled gray!
This is the one item I specifically requested from my stylist but unfortunately the fit is massive. I love the texture and the mixed direction of the ribbing! It’s also very thick and substantial, definitely worth the price! It also comes in black. My recommendation would be to size down at least one if not two sizes!
If you’re looking for an affordable suede jacket, this is it, y’all. I am obsessed. It’s under $80, is crazy-soft and so versatile. You can wear this to work in place of a blazer or wear it on the weekends! Dress it up for a night out, or wear it with jeans and a tee! It comes in five colors, but I really do love this dark gray. I’m already regretting sending this back, but I have something like 6 faux leather and faux suede jackets. 🙈
As far as this white top goes, I think it’s another great work to weekend top. Although I really could see myself wearing this in an office setting, it didn’t really feel like my casual style. Fit is TTS.
I do love a pair of utility pants, especially in spring and fall, but I didn’t love these. They have an elastic waistband, which is super-comfy. But I just didn’t love the fit. I think I’d need to size down at least one size if not two!
I just want to wear this outfit right now. I love it. Again, here is that slouchy sweater. But I added this $19 scarf, which of course I kept. (#leopardaddict) It’s lighter-weight and so wearable! It’s not going to be a super-cold-weather scarf, but that actually makes it more versatile!
And these sneakers, y’all. They are leather and so stinkin’ soft. They’re a classic sneaker style that is never going to go out of style. I’m typically a Converse gal, but these are a keeper.
